GlobalMalt Hamburg

GlobalMalt in Hamburg produces up to 110.000 tons of Pilsen malt per year.
Apart from deliveries per truck to customers situated in the Northern part of Germany, the malt is also exported by truck to Scandinavia and worldwide by containers.
The favourable location near to one of the biggest container terminals in Europe makes Hamburg an ideal place for exports.

Most of the processed barley comes from the fields in the Northen part of Germany and Denmark. But in case of difficult crops we can also process barley from all over the world.
In the year 2010 a heat pump was installed to recover the energy out of the drying process.
Together with the heat and power unit station – also put into operation in 2010 – the energy requirement of the malt house has been reduced significantly.
